Second Flemish Babywearing Conference 2017

INTRODUCTION

The Association of Babywearing Consultants Flanders was founded in 2013. The main goal of our association is bringing together babywearing consultants in order to share experiences and knowledge. This way we can continue to develop ourselves constantly in order to be able to help parents in a professional manner.

Furthermore, we wish to promote babywearing by providing visibility by means of, for instance, organised babywearing walks and being present at different events for midwives and other professionals involved in perinatal care. Even though we are a relatively young association, we have already gathered a lot of knowledge and experience, which we wish to share.

In 2015, we organised our first conference to reach people with professional ties to babies and young children. With over 100 participants a day, from all over the world, we are proud to say it was a great success! The people who attended our first edition ranged from pediatricians to midwives, and from babywearing consultants to nurses at child health centers.

We value knowledge, information provision and development so much, we immediately decided to organise another one. There is so much more to learn! This year, our conference will take place at 10 and 11 MARCH in the beautiful Hotel Elzenveld in the historic centre of Antwerp.

PROGRAM

We’re very proud to offer once again a very mixed range of lectures from speakers all over the world! They all have great experience in their workfield, and will make a direct link to babywearing.

    LOCATION:

Hotel Elzenveld is a historic monarch at the Centre of Antwerp. It is near the Groenplaats and Handschoenmarkt, Grote Markt and Scheldekaaien. We fell in love with the beautiful entrance, the “ghost garden” and the magnificent rooms. The eldest parts of the building are dated from the 16th century. All beautifully restaurated.

Public transport is the easiest way to get on location. Tram 4, 7 and 8 stops at the door on the Mechelseplein.
When you arrive by car, you can use De Vinci Parking “Nationale Bank”.
